Hemp production in the U.S. Why the deregulations and push for legalization?
Number 1: Local Farming industry has seen a major loss especially in the area of tobacco farming in the central US, pushing states like Kentucky to legalize hemp production.
Number 2: More recent medical studies have uncovered CBD to be the more medicinal active compounds in Hemp on average they make up roughly 40% of the plants extract. In the past local growers designed plants with lower CBD and higher THC because the market demand was for the more psychedelic and adverse affects of the plant. Now with medical use on the rise growers are pushing for higher ratios of CBD.
"Cannabidiol (INN; abbreviated as: CBD) is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is a major phytocannabinoid, accounting for up to 40% of the plant's extract. CBD does not appear to have any intoxicating effects such as those caused by tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in marijuana, but may have a downregulating impact on disordered thinking and anxiety.
